History This German specimen is the oldest breed in Central Europe. Spitz are divided into several varieties depending on their size: the Wolfspitz is the largest specimen of the German Spitz family. It descended from the Stone Age Peat Dogs “canis familiaris palustris ” and from the dog of the lake cities of a later period. The Keeshond, in Holland, was created from this breed. The Wolfspitz has found particular success all over the world thanks above all to its great personality, sweetness and usefulness. General Appearance The Wolfspitz is a medium-sized dog, muscular and lean, seductive with the beauty of its coat and abundant undercoat. Due to its color it is very reminiscent of the wolf (from which it takes part of the name). Particularly attractive is its head with lively eyes, very similar to those of the fox, and the small pointed and closely set ears which give it a slightly cheeky appearance.
