Miniature Schnauzer
Originally the Schnauzer was
used in Southern Germany
as a stable dog, also be-
cause it felt perfectly at ease
in the company of horses.
Full of zeal, he spied on ro-
dents and killed them in the
blink of an eye, which
earned him, in popular par-
lance, the nickname "rat
dog". At the time the Pin-
scher and Schnauzer club
was founded in 1895, it still
bore the name of wirehaired
Pinscher.
Dog of small size, robust,
with hard hair. Its typical
characteristics are a lively
temperament, combined
with calm, caution, a good
disposition, cheerfulness
and the proverbial devotion
to the owner. He loves chil-
dren very much. It has very
developed sense organs: its
intelligence, adaptability to
training, courage, tenacity
and resistance to bad
weather and diseases en-
sure that the Schnauzer
meets all the requirements to
be an exceptional family
dog, from guard and com-
panion, while also possess-
ing the necessary qualities of
a working dog.
