American Cocker
He can't hold back his hunting instincts, but
he is curious and appreciates a trip in town,
and will be happy to walk to the leash.
Good-natured, easy to educate, obedient,
loves to play both on work both at home. It is
the smallest among the Cockers, but is com-
pact and placed well. Available in a great vari-
ety of solid colors, as well as parti-color.
The term "cocker" was used referentially to the
woodcock, a bird that seemed attract this
breed a lot. Often confused with his English
cousin, the American yes descends from the
relative but it was created in America and not
imported from England.
Lhasa Apso
The Lhasa Apso is a nice and kind looking dog. Its
cheerfulness and liveliness make the breed very pop-
ular with the little ones. The dog is an excellent life
partner and is faithful and loyal.
The Lhasa Apso is an intelligent and purposeful little
dog, lively but nevertheless more serious with
strangers.
The Lhasa Apso is a sturdy little dog with balanced
proportions. It has a distinctive long, straight coat that
reaches down to the ground.
Originally from Tibet, the Lhasa Apso has very ancient
origins. It owes its name to the city of Lhasa, where it
was long kept, almost secretly, by Buddhist monks.
The latter regarded the dog as a sacred animal, due
to its resemblance to lions. For a long time it re-
mained the exclusive property of the Buddhist tem-
ples and the Dalai Lama. Later it became customary
to give it, as a sign of great benevolence, to visiting
dignitaries, so little by little it became one of the many
oriental dogs widespread in the West.
